Koreans love hiking and come out in mass to hike every weekend, holidays and such. Do not expect to find solitude when hiking in Korea. The bring lots of food and drink and it is a celebration and party at the top of the mountain or end of any trail in Korea. Trails are easily accessible by most public transportation. This is one hiking group in Soul called meet up but also is easy to find places and go on your own.
